Urban Indian students receive help

The Omaha School District in Omaha, Nebraska, has instituted a number of programs aimed at giving urban Indian students more help.

After school programs, tutoring sessions, leadership workships, and parental training are just some of the district's initiatives. The district is battling a low graduation rate: only 15 Indian students graduated from high schools in Omaha, less than one-third who started.
