Anong others, the Smithsonian Institute has chosen the Yakama Nation of Washington to be part of the "Our Lives" exhibit which will focus on the daily lives of tribal members. The Yakama Nation was chosen in part because it is composed of 14 separated bands and tribes who were forced together by an 1855 treaty.
