Repatriation still a major task

Ten years after the Native American Graves and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) became law, thousands of human remains and other Indian artifacts await repatriation to tribes across the nation.

Andrea A. Hunter of Northern Arizona University sits on the Repatriation Review Committee. She oversees a program at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, where about 3,500 human remains and 2,200 artifacts await repatriation.
