The principal of the Santo Domingo Elementary School at Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico says the state's standardized testing is unfair to his students, many of whom do not speak English as a first language.

And because those student's scores on the test have resulted in a "probationary" warning for the school, Frank Fastwolf is worried the state may take over. He believes the test may be biased.

The superintendent of Bernalillo Public Schools, of which Santo Domingo is a part, says the test isn't biased. But Gary Dwyer does agree that the language issue affects test scores.

Keres is spoken at the Pueblo and is used rigorously at all age levels.
