Seeing test scores of Indian students at such low levels year after year is "depressing," said an educator on Monday.

Carol Juneau, head of the Montana Wyoming Indian Education Association, made her comments at a forum on standardized testing. It was held at the National Indian Education Association, which is taking place in Billings, Montana.

With public schools threatened with losing federal funds if students perform low, educators are worried about the impact on Indian students. Part of the problem, they said, is lack of reliable data on Native test scores.
