OCTOBER 12, 2000 A University of Colorado professor says his research supports Pueblo traditions of clan migrations throughout the Southwest. Steve Lekson says he has found evidence that entire villages picked up and made large moves, not just small groups or individual families. He says sites in southern New Mexico shows evidence of mass migration from places far north like Mesa Verde in Colorado. Along with partner Karl Laumbach, Lekson's findings will be presented on Friday at the Mogollon Conference on Southwestern American Indian history in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Get the Story:
