Cherokee producer expands TV role

FEBRUARY 5, 2001 Carol Cornsilk is the new director of programming and production at Native American Public Telecommunications (NAPT), based at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. The 51-year-old member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma has a long list of television production experiences, ranging from PBS' "Austin City Limits" to TBS' "The Native Americans." At NAPT, she will receive 27 to 35 Native film proposals each year. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting funds some of them and PBS broadcasts them. Get the Story:
