FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2001 Washington Gov. Gary Locke next week will present a 2001 Governor's Arts and Heritage Award to Gail Tremblay, an Onondaga / Micmac poet and visual artist who teaches at Evergreen State College. Tremblay is one of two artists receiving the honor for the Artist Trust. The Artist Trust is a non-profit organization that gives grants to local artists to make their artwork. Since its inception in 1986, the Seattle-based group has given $1.6 million to artists. Get the Story:
