The Honor the Earth concert tour opened this past weekend in Montana, featuring performances by Indigenous, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, and The Indigo Girls.

Revealing his age, or perhaps his nostalgia, John Potter of The Billings Gazette said the show in Billings made it feel like the 1960s all over again. Intermixed with the musical performances, including the "wonderful" Bonnie Raitt, were speakers and presentations on the environment and getting out the Native vote.

At a press conference before the tour's opening in Lame Deer on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, The Indigo Girls said they were excited about the tour and that it was unlike a typical, large concert one.

The Montana shows have benefited a group called Native Action, a group focused on getting Native Americans in the state registered to vote. Stopping the killing of bison is the main focus of the tour.
