Representatives of the Intertribal Bison Cooperative met with Montana Governor Judy Martz (R) on Wednesday to seek support for changing in federal-state bison policy.

Tribes oppose the continued slaughter of bison that wander out of Yellowstone National Park and into Montana. They are suggesting the development of a quarantine facility and for a seat on the Greater Yellowstone Interagency Brucellosis Committee.

Martz said she supported greater tribal involvement.
