Nambe Pueblo in northern New Mexico has declared a state of emergency due to a fire burning on tribal land.

Gov. Tom Talache said the fire is threatening the watershed and important cultural sites. He has banned campfires and low-flying plans over the reservation.

The Molina Fire was sparked June 23 by lightning in the Pecos Wilderness near the reservation. It crossed onto tribal land on Tuesday.
