Horse relay racing a hit at Indian days fest

MONDAY, JULY 14, 2003 Ten teams participated in the horse relay racing event at the 52nd annual North American Indian Days held this past weekend in Montana. The Blackfeet Nation offered $15,000 in cash and prizes to competitors. Men and women participate in the contest, which is organized by the Blackfeet Indian Horse Relay Racing Association. The tribe is building a new $600,000 rodeo arena with tribal and federal funds. Get the Story:
