Obituary: Halftown host of children's show

MONDAY, JULY 7, 2003 Traynor O. Halftown, host of the longest-running children's television show in Philadelphia, died Saturday. He was 86. Halftown, a member of the Seneca Nation of New York, hosted "Chief Halftown" from 1951 to 1999, educating children about Indian culture. A veteran, nightclub singer and disc jockey, he described himself as a "nostalgia guy." Get the Story:
