Nez Perce Tribe building shelter for children

TUESDAY, JULY 1, 2003 The Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho is holding a ceremony today for a new emergency shelter for abused and neglected children. The tribe's casino and the Presbyterian Women's Birthday Offering Fund each contributed $100,000 for the project. It will be located in Lapwai and will have room for three to five children. The shelter could open as early as September. Get the Story:
