Ex-tribal housing director target of probe

TUESDAY, JULY 1, 2003 The former housing director for the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community is the target of a federal embezzling probe, the Associated Press reports. The Department of Interior and the FBI are investigating whether Brenda Lou Welsh stole more than $400,000 in tribal funds. Welsh was fired from her post in July 2002. Get the Story:
