Calif. tribes appeal ruling on compact money

TUESDAY, JULY 1, 2003 Two California tribes are asking a federal appeals court to reinstate their gaming compact lawsuit. The San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians and the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians say the state has failed to distribute gaming funds to non-gaming tribes. They are also challenging how the money is allocated and the process used to license slot machines. Get the Story:
