Rosebud Sioux Tribe harnesses wind power

FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2003 The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is using a wind turbine to generate electricity for at least 220 homes. The turbine became operational in March. The tribe has contracts with an electric company and an air force base to provide power. A second phase of the project will supply power to another reservation community. The third phase will branch out to other tribes. Get the Story:
