FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2003

The Supreme Court today announced it will hear a case affecting the $8 billion cleanup of the Everglades.

The Miccosukee Tribe and environmentalists want Florida water managers to comply with federal clean water standards. The Bush administration has sided with the tribe.

The tribe doesn't want the state to pump dirty water on its land in the Everglades.

The case is South Florida Water Management District v. Miccosukee Tribe of Indians, No. 02-626.
