Navajo leaders are pushing President Joe Shirley Jr. to keep his promise to oppose uranium development on the tribe's reservation.

The Dine Nationalists organization is hosting a uranium conference July 19 to show Navajo opposition to new mining. Tribal members are still feeling the health and environmental impacts of uranium development during the World War II and Cold War eras.
