Maori movie 'The Whale Rider ' wins rave reviews

"The Whale Rider," a movie about a Maori girl who ends up leading her tribe, is opening across the United States to positive reviews.

The film is based on a story by Witi Ihimaera, a Maori author. It features Maori actors Keisha Castle-Hughes, Rawiri Paratene and Cliff Curtis in the lead roles. Castle-Hughes plays granddaughter to Paratene, the chief of the tribe. Curtis plays the father.
