House panel approves bill to return land to tribe

THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 2003 The House Resources Committee approved a bill to return land around Lake Tahoe to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. The tribe will be restored 24 acres of culturally significant land. The land can't be used for commercial development. Get the Story:
