Talks to resolve the Oneida Nation land claim continue but substantial differences remain, a lawyer for the tribe said.

Arlinda Locklear told The Syracuse Post-Standard that minor issues have been resolved. The talks are occurring under a federal mediator, who has been given six more months to work with the parties.

The Oneida of New York, Wisconsin and Canada are suing two counties and the state of New York for 250,000 acres of land. The state reached an agreement with a representative of the New York tribe but didn't include the other Oneida nations.
