Saskatchewan's justice minister has asked the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to look into a case of a Native woman who was abandoned by police in Saskatoon 25 years ago, CBC News reports.

One police officer was disciplined for the incident, which appears to be the first known one involving a woman. Most of the cases have involved Native men.

The RCMP is investigating three cases of Native men who were found frozen to death on the outskirts of Saskatoon.
