Report: Indian police officer killed with own gun

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2003 A deputy sheriff in Montana killed in the line of duty was shot with his own gun, The Great Falls Tribune reports. Joshua Raven Chief Rutherford, 28, a member of the Assiniboine Tribe on the Fort Belknap Reservation, was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call. His gun was apparently taken during a scuffle with his alleged assailant, who also shot and wounded another officer. Get the Story:
