WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 2003 Fort Robinson State Park in Nebraska will hold a ceremony this weekend to commemorate the Cheyenne Outbreak of 1879. Cheyenne tribal members were imprisoned at the fort during the Indian wars. On January 9, 1879, they escaped the barracks they were being held at. Half of the 149 -- including women and children -- were killed and the rest were recaptured. Chief Dull Knife and his family were able to escape. Fort Robinson has reconstructed the barracks.
