Calif. tribe releases own employee wage study

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2003 The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of California is releasing a study to counter claims that tribal employees are underpaid. The tribe hired Exponent Inc. to analyze the wages of casino employees. According to the study, the average hourly rate was $11 per hour. The study contradicts findings in a study by the University of California at Los Angeles, which said the average average hourly wage was $8.93. Get the Story:
