Review: NMAI show documents Indian cowboys

FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2003 Grace Gleuck of The New York Times reviews "Legends of Our Times: Native Ranching and Rodeo Life on the Plains and the Plateau," an exhibit at the National Museum of the American Indian in New York City. The exhibit features more than 700 objects representing Indian ranching and rodeo culture. All of it is fascinating, Gleuck says, from horse-riding gear to photos to beadwork. The only drawback is the size of the collection, Gleuck says. "Do we really need to see a group of veterinary supplies?" she asks. Get the Story:
