Red Earth Festival kicks off this week in Okla.

MONDAY, MAY 19, 2003 The Red Earth Festival is being held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, this week. The three-day festival, which kicks off Friday at the State Fair Park, includes a pow-wow and arts show. John Herrington, a member of the Chickasaw Nation, is the Red Earth Ambassador. Herrington was the first tribal member to go into space. Benjamin Harjo Jr. is being recognized as Honored One for his art. Get the Story:
