Minn. tribes press for urban casino from teepee

WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2003 Two Minnesota tribes hoping to land a casino in the Twin Cities area have pitched a teepee at the state capitol. The White Earth and Red Lake Ojibwe bands put up the teepee last week. The tribes have not benefited from the Indian gaming boom and say an urban casino would help their remote communities. But other tribes oppose the idea. Get the Story:
