Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) wants the Bureau of Indian Affairs to skip environmental review of a proposed off-reservation casino.

Schumer said the agency should accept the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe's own study of the Catskills project. He said he will help push, through Congress, a $100 million land and gaming settlement the tribe has reached with the state.
