A New York state lawmaker has introduced a bill to tax a business owned by the Cayuga Nation.

The tribe just purchased a gasoline station and convenience store that sits on land within its former reservation. Even if the bill passes, a tribal spokesperson said the sales tax won't be collected because the land is sovereign.
