The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers needs to work with tribal and state governments to preserve sacred sites and burial grounds along the Missouri River, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says in an editorial.

The paper reacts to a report from the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation that recommends better consultation. "Now that the assessment is in black and white, we need to do something about it," the paper says.

Money, however, is a problem, the paper acknowledges. Only $3 million has been allocated for cultural preservation but as much as $77 million is needed to do further work, the paper says.
