B.C. First Nations sue government over fishing rights

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2003 Four British Columbia First Nations sued the provincial and federal governments for fish farms they say have destroyed their fishing rights. The First Nations contend that the farms have led to the spread of sea lice to wild salmon. One study showed that runs of wild pink salmon have dropped 98 percent as a result. Two operators of private fish farms are also being sued. Get the Story:
