Native woman was told daughter died at birth

THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 2003 A Native woman in Alberta, Canada, was recently reunited with the daughter she was told died at birth 31 years ago. Rose Wabasca went into labor after being beaten by her then-boyfriend. She passed out during labor, only to awake to word from the hospital staff that her daughter was still-born. But the lost Wabasca baby, who knew she was adopted, found her mother and family through an Internet search. Suzanne Bate, 31, had been adopted by a white family. Get the Story:
