A conference committee of the Montana Legislature continued work on a proposed hunt of bison that wander out of the Yellowstone National Park.

SB395 would create a "limited" hunt open to state and out-of-state hunters. It is opposed by the state's seven Indian lawmakers.

The state Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission would oversee the hunt. The commission's director said treaty rights have to be taken into account, The Billings Gazette reported.
