Wash. tribes celebrate with annual root feast

MONDAY, APRIL 14, 2003 Members of the Confederated Colville Tribes of Washington met on Saturday for the annual root feast. The feast marks the start of the new harvest year. The camas root and the bitterroot are considered the first fresh food of the season. Get the Story:
