B.C. reaches tentative First Nation land deal

TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 2003 The British Columbia government has reached a tentative agreement with the Snuneymuxw First Nation, CBC reports. The deal would increase the size of the band's reserve, secure fishing rights, remove the band's tax-exempt status, allow the band to collect property taxes and ensure the band receives revenue from natural resources on traditional territory.
