Grande Ronde elder to receive honorary doctorate

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2003 Kathryn Harrison, ambassador for the Confederated Grand Ronde Tribes of Oregon, will receive an honorary doctorate from Portland State University. Harrison is known for helping restore federal status to the Siletz Tribe and the Grand Ronde. A nurse by trade, she has served the Grande Ronde tribe in a number of positions and was the first woman to be elected as chair. Get the Story:
