Remote Minn. tribes propose urban casino

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2003 Two Ojibwe tribes in Minnesota are backing a state-run casino in the Twin Cities area in hopes. Due to their remote location, the Red Lake and White Earth tribes haven't benefited from the Indian gaming boom as much as other tribes in the state. Under the proposed casino, they would receive 50 percent of the profits. The 11 member tribes of the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association oppose the proposal. Get the Story:
