The New Zealand government plans to sign a $45 million land and cash settlement with a Maori tribe this week.

The settlement is with the Ngati Awa Tribe. The tribe will receive a portion of the Kaingaroa Forest as part of the deal.

For that reason, another Maori tribe is concerned that its land claim case will be affected. And a forestry company currently in receivership opposes the treaty.
