Failing Indian school in Minn. faces major reform

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2003 The Four Winds American Indian Magnet School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will return to its original mission of promoting Indian culture and education under a new proposal. The public school, started in 1991, is said to have lost its focus. Less than half of the students are Indian and the school is ranked among the worst in Minneapolis. A public hearing on the proposal will be held March 25. The school board is to vote on April 8. Get the Story:
