The Seminole Tribe of Florida held a hearing on Thursday to address getting rid of ousted chief Jim Billie.

Billie defended himself from charges that he misused tribal funds, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. He was suspended amid a federal investigation into the tribe's business dealings. Three former associates who were charged with stealing money were acquitted but Billie has never been charged.

The tribal council is expected to decide Billie's fate on Monday.
