A Missouri company agreed to pay $500,000 for falsely claiming to be Indian-owned in order to win $17 million in federal contracts.

Michael F. Persons, president of KAJACS Contractors, Inc., claimed to have Cherokee ancestry. Persons was indicted separately for criminal fraud and agreed to pay $200,000 in fines and restitution.
