The University of Northern Colorado is repatriating a totem pole to the Tlingit Tribe of Alaska, nearly one hundred years after it was stolen from tribal land.

The Brown Bear Totem represents the Bear clan of the Tlingit Tribe. It has been on display at UNC, whose students and alumni call it "Totem Teddy," since 1914.

The original bear carving that sat on the top of the totem is missing.
