The Bureau of Land Management in Nevada has rounded up livestock belonging to two Western Shoshone sisters and plans additional raids in the future.

More than 500 horses were seized in the current round. They have been transferred to a rancher in California to prevent their slaughter.

The BLM says Mary and Carrie Dann owe millions for grazing their horses and cattle on federal land. The sisters say the land was never ceded to the U.S.
