Crow Tribe fights BIA approval of drilling deal

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2003 The Crow Tribe of Montana has asked the Interior Board of Indian Appeals to overturn approval of a drilling agreement. New chairman Carl Venne contends the deal will rip off the tribe. It was signed by his predecessor, Clifford Bird in Ground, last year with Colorado-based Bill Barrett Corp. Bird in Ground is awaiting sentencing in federal court on unrelated fraud charges. Get the Story:
