Okla. tribes hoping to negotiate gaming compacts

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2003 Some tribes in Oklahoma want to negotiate gaming compacts with Governor Brad Henry (D). The tribes have met twice to discuss the issue and are meeting again this week. The deals could involve casino games that federal regulators have questioned but also blackjack and other Class III games. Henry has appointed Lindsay Robertson, a law professor at the University of Oklahoma, as his special counsel for Indian affairs. She will handle any negotiations. Get the Story:
