The United South and Eastern Tribes (USET) passed a resolution opposing a bid by the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma to open a gaming facility in New York, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

The USET resolution states the "Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has no established land claim in the state of New York over which it can legally exercise jurisdiction" and says the tribe's proposed high-stakes bingo hall "would be illegal and would violate the rights and jurisdiction of the Cayuga Nation of New York."

The Cayuga Nation of New York, which is a member of USET, presented a copy of the resolution at a meeting yesterday to address the Oklahoma tribe's plans.
