Senate Democrats on Tuesday began to filibuster one of President Bush's judicial nominees.

The Democrats said they will hold up Miguel Estrada, nominated for the D.C. Court of Appeals, until the Bush administration releases information about work he did at the Department of Justice. They said the needed the information because Estrada has refused to divulge his views.

If the filibuster continues, Republicans need 60 votes to break it. Two Democrats have said they will support Estrada.

The D.C. Circuit handles cases involving the federal agencies, including a number of Indian-law related cases. The court upheld the Cobell lawsuit in February 2001.
