The Tulalip Tribes of Washington has been ordered to pay $1.18 million in housing funds that were allegedly used to pay for night vision goggles, fleece vests whale-watching trips and other unauthorized travel.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development looked into the tribe's housing program. A report by HUD's Northwest Office of Native American Programs (ONAP) cites misuse of the funds, The Everett Herald reported.
